Holy shit that's insane. I don't mean to sound rude but to be honest if I was you I'd rather be robbed in addition. Because if I was just assaulted for no reason it would keep me wondering for what it was for. Or maybe not. Anyways good luck recovering psychologically since that's the only way that matters. Wait it's been eight months. Oh well.

It's funny, I lived in one of the worst neighborhoods of NYC (in the late 90's), and it still felt safer than a lot of the other places I'd been (i.e. St. Louis ... even Sacremento).
